When did you first think about getting a motorcycle??? When my husband, Cruzer/Juan pressured me to start looking for one. Also, back pain – I could not ride longer than an hour as a passenger.
What attracted you to your bike? I liked the look and the power of the bike. Also, I could lift it up in an upright position without struggling.
Fastest you've ridden?? 110 miles per hour – following Cruzer…
How long does it take you to polish her?? I don’t – That’s Cruzer’s job
Helmet or no helmet? I Always ride with my gear (well except for a few times around town and to the breakfast ride on the June 28).
Any roadrash stories to tell?? I got third degree burns on my left leg from the exhaust from a 750 Suzuki sports bike back in 1986. Trying to turn the bike on an incline and got nervous and stopped instead of finishing the turn.
If you could change something about your bike, what would it be? Nothing .
What is the next accessory you will be adding? A crash bar, sissy bar and a travel rack.
Favorite Road Song? Don’t listen to music while riding.
What are 3 lessons you've learned about riding safely in the past few months? Keep my distance, pay attention and slow down before a turn (I learned that one on my second ride when I drove off the road into the sand and dropped the bike).
Longest ride? The Mini Butt Run, 12 hours on the bike is a very long ride, but had a great time doing it. Over 600 miles.
What was the worst weather you've ridden? Rain – buckets of it. Don’t like riding in the Florida rain showers, thunderstorms, wet roads and lighting…very scary.
Favorite time of the year to ride? I like riding anytime in Florida, but Fall & Winter is the best, less bugs and not so hot and muggy.
Favorite route to ride? A1A – or any ride by a body of water.
Ever hit any critters, alive or dead? Bugs, lots of them… nothing larger yet and hope never!!!
Do you have a ride bell on your bike? Nope – what is that?
Why do you ride? I enjoy the freedom and challenge. But really enjoy riding with the SCRC 456.
What is your "Dream Machine?" 1400 Touring bike.
If you had only 5 bucks left in your wallet, what would you do with it? Put gas in my VTX.
Why did you join the West Palm Beach chapter? I started riding with the chapter to do something together with my husband and to see the area. But now that I have my own bike, I really enjoy riding with the group even more. I like the safety in numbers and how we all look out for each other. Plus the encouragement that is given from the members of the group to continue riding is very motivating. The more I ride the more experience I get. Thanks everyone!
